About Market Flow

marketflow.au is a free, independent market intelligence platform built specifically for Australian retail traders and investors. It was created out of a simple belief: that high-quality ASX data, technical analysis, and market insights should not be locked behind expensive subscriptions or institutional-grade tools.

Why Built It

The Australian stock market has more than 2,000 listed companies across every sector — from major banks and miners to emerging biotech and technology firms. For most retail traders and investors, navigating that universe is overwhelming. Professional tools that surface the right stocks at the right time often cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars per month.

MarketFlow was built to close that gap.

We wanted a platform where any Australian — whether they’re a seasoned trader or someone investing their first dollar in the ASX — could open a browser, see what the market is doing right now, and find meaningful signals without needing a finance degree or a Bloomberg terminal.

What Market Flow Provides

Near Real-Time Market Dashboard

The Market Flow dashboard gives you an instant read on the ASX at a glance:

  • Market indices — ASX 200, All Ordinaries, ASX 300, and ASX 50 with near real-time price and change data (20-minute delay)
  • Day Gainers — the top gaining stocks across the entire ASX, sorted by percentage gain, paginated across all results
  • Day Losers — the biggest declining stocks, helping you track where selling pressure is concentrated
  • Activity Heatmap — a treemap visualisation of the most active ASX stocks, where tile size represents value traded and colour represents price change. Filterable by Market Capitalisation (All, Large, Mid, Small, Micro) and by Industry sector, giving you an instant visual read of where market activity is concentrated
  • Featured Stock — highlights the top active gainer of the day with significant traded value. The featured panel shows the company name, sector, live price and change, value traded, market cap, volume, and 52-week range. It also embeds a live TradingView chart and a feed of the company's most recent ASX price-sensitive announcements, all in one view
  • Active Top Gainers — a ranked table of the top gaining ASX stocks filtered to those with traded value above $300K, showing price, percentage change, value traded, and market cap. Each row links directly to the company's intelligence page

Everything is visible without logging in. Open the site, see the market.

The Price Action Screener

At the core of Market Flow is the Price Action Screener — a tool that scans all 2,000+ ASX-listed stocks and returns only those matching your chosen technical criteria. Results update instantly as you adjust filters.

The screener includes eight filters:

  • 20, 50, and 100-Day Moving Averages — filter stocks where price is above or below each moving average, individually or in combination, to identify multi-timeframe trend alignment
  • RSI (14) — isolate stocks that are oversold (below 30), building momentum (50–70), or in strong overbought territory (above 70)
  • Trend (ADX) — find stocks in strong uptrends, clear downtrends, or sideways consolidation based on the Average Directional Index
  • Momentum — detect stocks where buying or selling pressure is accelerating, from Strong Bullish through to Strong Bearish
  • Breakout — surface stocks that have broken above key resistance levels or 52-week highs, scored from Major Breakout down to Weak
  • Volume Anomaly — confirm institutional participation by filtering for stocks trading at Major, Moderate, or Mild volume anomalies versus their average

Each result row shows the full signal set — price, change, all six technical badges, RSI value, market cap, and 52-week range — in a compact, scannable table.

Market Screeners by Cap Tier

In addition to the Price Action Screener, Market Flow includes dedicated Most Active screeners for every market capitalisation tier:

  • Large Cap (ASX 200 and above) — the most liquid stocks, lowest volatility, institutional support
  • Mid Cap ($1B–$10B) — the sweet spot for momentum traders, balance of liquidity and move potential
  • Small Cap ($250M–$1B) — higher volatility, bigger potential moves, for more experienced traders
  • Micro Cap (below $250M) — high risk, high reward, for traders comfortable with illiquid conditions

Each screener displays the most actively traded stocks with full price, change, volume, and technical signal data.

Company Intelligence Pages

Every ASX-listed stock has a dedicated page providing:

  • Current price, day change, and volume
  • 52-week high and low range
  • Full technical analysis — moving average signals, RSI, ADX trend, momentum, breakout, and volume anomaly scores all in one view
  • Interactive price charts across multiple timeframes
  • ASX announcements — company announcements pulled directly from the exchange and organised chronologically
  • Catalyst analysis — an AI-powered breakdown of what recent announcements and news actually mean for price action, written in plain language

To look up any stock, type the ASX ticker code into the search bar at the top of any page.

Articles and Education

The Articles section provides free, practical trading and investing education written specifically for the ASX context, organised into four categories:

Stock Spotlight Deep dives into individual ASX-listed companies. Each article covers what the business does, how it makes money, how it has been performing, and the key technical and fundamental factors currently driving its price action.

Technical Analysis Plain-language explanations of the indicators, chart patterns, and price-action concepts that active traders rely on. Covers moving averages, RSI, ADX, breakout patterns, volume analysis, and more — written without jargon, with practical application to ASX stocks.

Trading and Investment Booklet Distilled summaries of the most important trading and investing books ever written. Each booklet extracts the core lessons, key frameworks, and actionable insights so you get the value without having to read hundreds of pages.

MarketFlow Tools 101 Step-by-step guides on how to use every feature inside the platform. From running your first Price Action Screener search to interpreting technical signal badges on company pages — practical walkthroughs written for all experience levels.

All articles are written to be directly useful — actionable insights, not generic theory.

Who It Is For

Market Flow is built for:

  • Active ASX traders who want a fast, clean tool for screening setups and monitoring the market
  • Long-term investors who want to research companies and understand what is driving price action
  • Beginners who are learning to invest in Australian stocks and want reliable, accessible information
  • Anyone curious about what the Australian stock market is doing right now

There is no sign-up required. No credit card. No paywall. Everything on Market Flow is free and accessible to any Australian with an internet connection.

Built on Reliable Data

Market Flow sources its market data from established financial data providers to ensure accuracy and timeliness. All prices are subject to a standard 20-minute delay as required by ASX data licensing — making them near real-time rather than live — and this is clearly labelled throughout the platform so you always know the data you are working with.

This platform is not a broker, does not execute trades, and does not provide personal financial advice. It is a research and analysis tool to help you make more informed decisions.

The Commitment

Market Flow is committed to remaining:

  • Free — no subscription tiers, no premium locks on core features
  • Australian-focused — built for the ASX specifically, not adapted from a US-market tool
  • Continuously improving — new screener filters, deeper company data, and more educational content added regularly

The Australian retail investor deserves better tools. That is what Market Flow is here to build.
